This is a vintage wedding dress that I found and reconstructed to style an editorial shoot on the Pont Alexandre III. I found it while I was moving and put it on for the hell of it and the boyfriend took a few pictures. The dress made me wonder if the women who got married in it lived a long and happy marriage or had a messy divorce and threw the dress in le Marais.

This was taken in Tuileries at the first of October. It's now the end of the month and fall is already upon us with it's chilly nights and fur-able weather. It's time to pull out your scarves, boots, and jackets and I couldn't be any more excited. I love summer just as much as the next person but I absolutely love love love dressing up and layering my outfits. I've been looking at womens jackets everywhere I go. Everyone can use a new blazer, trench, or leather jacket. It's important to have a jacket that can take you into season after season.

I vaguely remember reading a fashion article back in 2005 about how New York women don't wear pants anymore and that leggings have swept the nation. This sounds about right because it's 2011 and even summertime in Paris I can see blue, orange, and red leggings worn with dresses. Regardless if you love'em or hate'em, there here to stay so why not get creative? I've seen some designers make the most amazing pair of what I call "couture" leggings. One of my favorites is Brian Lichtenberg and you can check his out here. I'm one of those people that is wearing my fur in June. The whimsical Paris weather has allowed me to do so but I love the irony of wearing "winter" clothes in the summer. I'm kinda of love with that slightly destroyed Michael Kors knit sweater in the first picture. When I saw Gisele's editorial in my April Paris Vogue I envisioned myself wondering in the middle of nowhere with wild beachy hair and draped in stubby summer knitwear. Perhaps stumble upon a deserted beach where I could lay on some surprisingly comfy rocks and tan...

Running around the city while the temperature is rising has made me take notice in creative and chic ways to have your hair stay in place. I love the braids, buns, and twists but my favorite were the hair accessories at Chanel. I think putting jewels and feathers in your tresses can definitely put a personal touch to an outfit. What are your favorite summer 2011 hairstyles you've seen on the runway?

Sorry I've neglected this blog forever but I've been busy working as a part time stylist for an amazing Parisian photographer, getting my portfolio ready for fashion school, French class, and enjoying everything Paris has to offer me. I have loads of photos I need to upload and there's so many collections I'm dying over that I want to blog about! The sun is back and I've crawled out of my shell of chilly misery and so has the rest of the Paris. The cafe's are full of people brimming the sidewalks, the flowers have bloom, and people are lazying on the grass. I went to the Flower Park for the first time yesterday and the aromas and exotic flowers were enchanting. I was definitely inspired by the intricacy of the patterns that I saw on some of the rare flowers. I got some amazing photos I'll post this week!

I went on an overdue trip to the park with friends to enjoy the sun we've been getting for the past week. We didn't realize how cold it actually was and with the wind and sun going down we were half frozen by the time we left. Everyone wanted sushi after because nothing feels better then hot towels and miso soup after sitting in the freezing cold voluntarily. All in all we had a good time laughing and taking pictures but next time I want to go canoeing...sunsets are so sweet.

This is currently my favorite fur coat that can actually pull off casual and dressy according to footwear. I love the camel color and the white patches on the elbows. I found it in a Paris antique market that's held on my street (Blvd Bonne Nouvelle) every last Saturday of each month. This always slips my memory and as I headed out to dinner one night right in front of my flat there were at least 200 beautiful Parisian antique fur coats waiting for a new home. I bought two and told myself they'll be back again.

Earlier this week Francesca and I decided to take a walk to Belleville Park. It was right after we arrived that it started raining hard and we were umbrella-less. For the sake of my fur we tried to wait it out under a walkway covered in shrubs. I realized even though the weather in Paris doesn't reflect spring the budding of leaves, roses, and dandelions proved otherwise. I can't wait to be able to enojy the sun while sitting next to the Seine and sip my iced caramel macchiato while reading the newest issue of Numéro.

I'm wearing my favorite cropped angora sweater that eliminates being cold better than my fur jackets. I met up some friends for lunch in Bastille earlier this week and the sun was out stronger than ever. We enjoyed watching skaters do their tricks while waiting on friends. After much walking and talking we decided to go for Indian. I've never tried Indian food until last week when I met a makeup artist from Canada who showed me a great Indian restaurant one block away from my flat. I've been there 3 times in 2 weeks. I'm hooked, I've been missing out!

We went to Jardin des Tuileries today next to the Louvre and it was beautiful in that sad, wintery kind of way. We were freezing by the time we ate our sweets and decided we wouldn't be back until spring. I can't wait for pink roses to bloom, my favorite! I really love the puffy sleeves on this jacket and the fact it's kinda wide. It makes me feel like I'm wrapped in a big soft blanket.

Happy New Year! As my Italian friend Fra would say, "Anno nuovo, vita nuova" which means "new year, new life" I found this vintage pin at an antique market and the man told me it was from the 50's and used to pin dresses. The gold hasn't lost it's shine! This tacky tree is in my courtyard and it also plays music at night...scary.

It's time for full length coats and thigh high boots...I love winter but I don't love being pale. I went to Point Soleil in front of my place and got a little bit of my South Beach tan back. No need for lectures, I prefer the sun but I won't see it for a while. My hair is growing out and whoever said long hair is high maintenance lied! Short hair takes so much more time and effort but sometimes I still want it shorter.

Life in Paris is full of surprises and adventures. I got mugged for the first time ever last week when I was waiting for a friend outside listening to music on my 4g iphone when this thug just came up and snatched it and ran....I mean he even took the headphones out of my ear! I have insurance so it wasn't a big deal. Paris is getting better with each day and I keep finding more amazing people and things in this crazy city... I can't wait to celebrate Thanksgiving in Paris. My friends and I found some great restaurants that will be serving all my favorites! It probably won't be as good as my aunt's cooking but it's second best :) Hope everyone is having a great week!

Raphael Young was born in Seoul, Korea as an orphan and was adopted into a French family at age 4 where he moved to Lyon, France. His childhood consisted of anticipated summers to his uncle’s shoe factory where his interest in design and fashion began. His uncle was Alexandre Narcy an acclaimed bottier who created the first Yves Saint Laurent’s shoe studio. It was his uncle who taught him how to make his first pair of shoes at age 14 and till this day he personally makes his own prototype from heel to toe. Before fashion he went the traditional path and studied engineering and physics which only helped influence the future designer when it came to understanding structure and physics. He started his career in Paris and opened up this first store on Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau where he made his mark in the fashion industry. Everyone has fallen in love with his shoes which are not inspired by trends but uses traditional techniques fused with 21^st century fashion. His shoes are the most powerful and stunning on the market. As for comfort I’ll let you know, those first wedges are on top of my Christmas list.

I went back to Free"P"Star in Le Marais and pushed through racks of vintage and came upon this cropped sweater. It's the perfect shade of blood red and the angora fur is oh-so soft. I pictured it paired with some highwaisted pants but it kept me so warm I was able to wear it with shorts. I have some trouble getting dressed here because I lack the access to almost all of my clothes, shoes, bags....everything. I don't know what I was thinking while packing. I don't think I realized I was going to be living out of my suitcase for the next couple of years...

Last week I woke up from a nap with the urge to chop off my hair. I hopped on the métro and luckily I found an amazing salon near Châtelet. Many times, including this Parisian salon, I've tried to chop my hair off and the hairdressers just refuse. They kept asking me "are you zur? your zur?". It took me a minute to realize they were saying "you sure?" That experience was hilarious because they don't teach you hair vocabulary at French school and they couldn't speak any English. Overall it turned out great and I feel liberated. I definitely won't miss it but even if I do my hair grows crazy fast. Change is always a good thing...

Picked out fresh figs at a market near Strasbourg St Denis two weeks ago. Figs are magical aren't they? I try to eat a strawberry tarte from various pâtisseries once a day. They are my weakness. The weather went from sunny and nice to rainy and freezing within the past week. I'm a little depressed but Paris Fashion Week starts next month which will make up for this weather! I got my first Parisian haircut last week but still haven't taken pictures..I'll try and post some soon!

Had dinner near the Eiffel and afterwards we went to admire the twinkling tower. There were lots of jumping, laughing, and wrong camera timing. It was my friends idea to get onto the pole for a better shot. I had wedges on and was nervous but thank God I have balance and didn't fall...now that would've been a story.

PS: I don't use any software my camera just does whatever it wants to do sometimes!

Gucci F/W 2010

This winter is going to be all about texture. From patterned tights, handwoven furs, velvety suedes, and black feathers. Gucci's F/W 10' collection is so inspiring I'm kinda waiting for the cold weather to come in full force. I hear it's going to be freezing in Paris this year. I may regret saying that but who doesn't love to wear gloves and fur? I ordered a pair of evening leather gloves by Daniel Storto. Nicknamed "haute couturier of gloves” . He has colaborated with Dries Van Noten and even Alexander McQueen.You can get your own pair for only $25 here! (out of the leather one's I ordered but the new sculptural gloves are très chic!)

The shopping here is fabulous. So many boutiques with the best handbags, shoes, jewelry, women's dresses, and accessories. I love getting inspired by all the vintage haute couture.

Today I went to Parc Buttes Chaumont with my new friend Sabino. Today was such a beautiful sunny day that we had to go sit outside and enjoy nature. I loved the pond with the pink lotus flowers. It's the biggest park in Paris and the gazebo is a replica of one in Greece. We didn't get to see all of the park in one trip...you never have enough time here. It's still summer but the end is very near. It's already freezing in the mornings and at night. I can't believe I've been living here for a month already! I love Paris. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I ordered these shoes online last year and sadly they look brand new because I haven't gone to the gym in ages. I thought buying workout shoes would encourage me to actually work out but this has remained unsuccessful. Anyway, these may not be the best running shoes but they give me an extra inch or two which is always a plus. I'm not too crazy about the "miss Sil" but it's not like anyone is going to notice...

I bought this beautiful beaded scarf over 8 years ago when I was Marciano obsessed. I think I initially wore it as a belt and after I couldn't think of any other ways to wear it I hung it as decoration. I'm so glad I never got rid of it because it's my favorite color turquoise and my other obsession...sequins.

Watched fireworks on the streets last night at Lenox Square (heart of Atlanta) while Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA blared from the speakers. The fireworks were literally above us and the loud crackles and pops reminded me of my childhood tradition that literally brings wide-eyed jaw-dropping shows. Pictures and videos never do justice to fireworks...I've officially decided that when I get married (which is ages from now) I want a 20 minute fireworks ending. Hope everyone had a safe and fabulous fourth!

I saw this green thing at h&m and immediately had to buy it. Anything thats sheer, flowy and long is a summer must have. I've actually worn this to the club (with heels), lunch date with an old friend (flip flops), and yesterday (barefoot) to one of the most photogenic creeks I know. It's kinda funny because it's one size which means it was meant to be worn as a beach coverup. With an under dress and some accessories you can fool anyone!

1. My first video-log! I decided to mess around with my HP touchscreen computer (my other love besides fashion is definitely technology) and made a little preview video of what I'll be selling in my store this month.

2. I saw Karate Kid this week and if your into martial arts you will love it. I took Karate lessens as a little kid but unfortunately didn't go through with it...something about being the only girl there made me want to quit.

3. I found the perfect vintage necklace and gold bangle yesterday. I have a weakness for shiny things..

4. I know this tartan kilt print is a little heavy for summer but it's actually 100% silk and feels like I have nothing on. 4 buttons and a little snap...the perfect wrap dress that pays an ode to the great Alexander McQueen.

The unsuccessful New Year's resolutions lists inspired me to make this one. July is about to be here in 2 days and I could not believe half the year has already gone. These past 8 months I've been dealing with life changing decisions and having positions given and taken away from me. With A LOT of prayer, a twist of fate, and my loving and supporting family...I have the most amazing opportunity!

I'm moving to PARIS! I will be living, interning, and studying fashion in the birthplace of haute couture. I still can't believe I'll be living my childhood dreams. I will first be attending Ecole Internationale de langue et de civilisation Française this fall for mandatory language courses before starting school in France. As far as studying fashion design in one of the top fashion school in the world....that's for a future post.

Like any good mother, my sister and I were dressed up like dolls for most of our childhood. We even starred in our own commercial in New York for a local bridal boutique. I caught the bouquet in the end with a cute little head nod. I will never know why a 3 year-old caught a bouquet...but it was cute. I loved the freedom of running around that bridal boutique trying on anything they let me and loving all the different styles. Growing up one of my favorite aunts in New York had a fashion boutique full of leather jackets, leopard print dresses, and other wonderful things. I was only 10 when she had her store so I couldn't wear half of the stuff but anything that fit and was appropriate she would give me. I recall going back to Atlanta with the most random mix of clothing! In retrospect the outfits I wore may have been tacky or ill-fitting but ever since I could remember I've always loved and had fun with fashion.

I'm finally tan enough to wear this dress! First off, I've randomly concluded the previous owner was a grandma. I don't know why but I'm sure of it. When I found this dress I immediately saw Chanel influences from the pearl button details to the sheer sleeves and shoulder pads. I love the sheer cutouts on the back of the dress too. I haven't worn this yet because I thought it was too long/big and wanted to cut it shorter but decided it fits well oversized. Posing for pictures can show off clothes but action shots can show how well the clothes actually move with the body. I love flowy pieces that move with you while walking...always the most comfortable too.

Last month they estimated that the BP oil spill was releasing over 210,000 gallons of crude into our beautiful oceans each day. After watching the news this morning the number has grown to an estimated 600,000 -1.2 million gallons of oil each day! This isn't even the worst part...if they can't find another solution (besides polluting our air by burning all the excess oil that can't fit in the stupid dome they built) by next month the number of gallons of oil ruining our bountiful oceans will grow to a whopping 2 million gallons per day. I want to cry for all the animals!!

If you haven't done anything to help...do it NOW!! My father recalled the huge oil spill in South Korea back in 2007 and how celebrities and the whole nation went to the beaches to do something small as cleaning the rocks. We need global help to even slightly neutralize this disaster. Americans are paying for our dependency on oil and need to research alternative fuel sources. Kinda ironic how gas prices has gone DOWN since the oil spill....

Huge shoulder pads. Obnoxiously pink. Oversized. This linen blazer is perfect for breezy summer nights... crazy how it can be 100 degrees in the day and 50 at night (or at least it feels that way). I'm wearing the same tank from the last post which makes this outfit just that much more comfy...I love buying pieces that you can dress up and down.

Currently listening to Here We Go Again by Pixie Lott. Her voice is so soulful and swanky... makes me want to live in vintage.

Gel nails are all the rage now. In the US you can find some Japanese based nail salons that may offer gel nails but it's nothing compared to Japan, and luckily Korea, thanks to a bilingual Japanese nail artist who opened up a salon on Rodeo Drive in Korea. Last summer I attended Seoul National University to study intensive Korean and I had the opportunity to meet some of the coolest people from all over the world. I met a girl named Irene who knew about gel nails from living in Japan for five years. (she actually goes to RISD and is an amazing artist, she just started a blog check it out here) After seeing her rad nails my friend Natasha and I made an appointment the very next day like we've been missing out our whole lives. Natasha is a law grad from Australia and didn't know anything about them either! She's very into fashion and beauty as well, she has an online magazine you can read here.

The place was glamfab and the ladies were super sweet. We played around with boxes of miniature hamburgers, ice cream, snowmen, and more all imported from Japan for about 3 hours. Keep in mind you are paying anywhere from $250-300 USD, and this is cheap according to Irene who had lived in Japan. So it's time consuming to say the least because I went all out...as you can see. My friend Natasha didn't go as overboard and they turned out ridiculously cool. We laughed for days how these globs of miniature art were interfering with our daily routines such as: running my hands through hair, putting on makeup, and Natasha even struggled with her contacts so we went back to get them fixed. But if I could do it again, I would, and with intent of a crazier design than I did the first time. There never went a day without a girl or old women asking where I got them done and examined each one like a piece of art. Loved them, miss them, will get them again whenever I go back.

Most Asked Questions:

Did it hurt?
Absolutely not, they prepare each nail for the process and it's not as abrasive as acrylic.

How long do they last?
2-3 months, and even longer if you go back and maintenance them. I went back to the states so I just let them grow out.

Do the stones fall out?
The gel is the special part about these nails, it dries clear and holds things like super glue which allows the nail artist to make a design and pile things on top of the other. Out of the 100 jewels I had on my nails only 3-4 fell off.

Did it hurt to take them off?
If you've ever gotten acrylic on your nails (ew the highschool days) and know when they grow out they come off your nails naturally, the same thing happens with gel nails. Most of the designs popped off easily all together because your nails grow with them on and eventually makes air bubbles underneath. Some stayed longer than others.

1.Went to my first Agent Provocateur in Cali because Atlanta doesn't have one (boo). Personal fittings and all...I love that store. Very glam... I wanted everything, especially the silk stockings cream which make your legs feel like silk. yum.
2. Haven't been on my makeup lately so when I went into Sephora I just bought my essentials...primer, mascara, and nail polish. You can't walk out of that store w/o spending $100. I have tried every highend mascara (and lowend) but the best are Diorshow Blackout (waterproof) and Diorshow (nonwaterproof). They lengthen, thicken, and curl your lashes. Not pictured is my shu uemura eyelash curler that can curl the straighest lashes in one clamp (highly recommend)
3.Primer is a must & I'm always trying new ones (because nothing is ever good enough) I bought this smashbox primer and it's creamier than most and can substitute for eyeshadow.
4. I have a weakness for red-ish nail color... not quite red. not quite orange. I'm pretty sure I just bought it because of the name "LOST W/O MY GPS". This remains true in my life.
5. Inspired by Valentino's colorful runway makeup I got this bright blue eyeliner for a spring look.
6. I picked up these vintage earrings in SF and they reminded me so much of those rings my friends make after a bottle of champagne. These would be there mate.

Summer is almost here...the weather in Georgia is so erratic that spring is skipped and it goes straight into sweltering, humid, nasty hott. I love it. Alexander Wang would make the perfect shoe for summer. I've been wanting a pair of combat boots for a while but never found any girly enough. When I saw these this morning it was like I dreamt of them and they came to life on my computer screen.

Love how it zips up so you wouldn't have to tie them up and down. The foldable double topline gives it more attitude and the open-toe is what won me over! Showing off the pedi is a must for summer, available to anyone for the small price of $595. They would go great with literally everything and anything...

I had my hair in braids but they kept getting stuck on the loose sequins so I gave up and let it down...which caused some crazy creases in my hair.You can't see the whole dress but it's pretty sparkly, fun, and has some ma-jah shoulder pads. My first investment for spring are some sky-high platform...preferably pink, yellow, turquoise, and red. How gorgeous are those Gianmarco shoes? The second tulle-embellished sandals are to-die-for. I picked up these glasses at the forever21 in Miami...and I love the leopard print detail. You can't really notice it but I love them...and they make everything a cool sepia color than the usual black. I was really excited about the Garden Collection at H&M but only got this dress and skirt in my size. I'm sure every girly-girl got excited about all those bright, beautiful floral prints! Of course...SOLD OUT. I'm kinda glad I didn't get anymore because this dress was already falling apart & it turns transparent in the sun. No bueno...

When I read this I immediately agreed with Anna Wintour's view of long skirts. Mile-long skirts are not a great investment for my body type. Although, the one long dress I own is this one pictured above and even if I could get it longer to wear with platforms..I prefer the maxi dresses with flats. It just emphasizes that bohemian beachy vibe. I think with the right cut, fit, color..etc. ANYONE can wear mile-long skirts...but that's just me...

My favorite part of this outfit is this 1920's inspired shirt I found at forever21 ages ago. It almost looks like a fabulous vintage find...no? I love the tiers of fringe, freedom of movement, and how I reminisce of the roaring 20's flapper fashion. A time when women bared their arms and legs, coiled waves slick to the head, and wore exaggerated makeup that emphasized the eyes and lips. Oh...the scandalicious times of women dancing with men, drinking, and dare I say...driving cars!

I wish I could come across some more flapper inspired dresses and shirts. I found this one from bebe but it's sold out...I may have to make one myself if I don't find another one soon.

She is actually the one who showed me blogger and got me hooked when I found such fashionable profiles from all over the world. There are so many trends today in every country, blogger is the easiest way to see real street fashion in every country. My sister also got me hooked on watching Golden Girls! Watching them brought back my love for 80's fashion...the shoulder pads, sequins, and flashy glamour! When I visited her in Miami she took me to a store called LF which had a rack full of lovely reconstructed vintage dress. I picked this one out and another white one. I can't wait to go back!
